Unmapped: How Huega House Officially Steps Into the Running Space

Huega House officially enters the running space with the Unmapped Collection. Built in San Diego by two active founders, backed by a team of 50+ runners who completed the SoCal...

The campaign was shot in the middle of nowhere. No crowds, no course markers, no noise. Just open terrain and the kind of clarity that only comes a few miles in. That's what Unmapped is. A runner's high made tangible. The moment the to-do list goes quiet, the chatter shuts off, and all that's left is you and your reason why.

That's what running has always been to us. Today, it finally has a collection to go with it.

Running Was Already Here

Huega House didn't discover running when we started designing this collection. Running has been part of our story for years before the first piece of Unmapped existed.

Co-founder Jonathan has been a runner for the last four years. It started with a challenge, his first half marathon, something he set for himself just to prove he could do it. He finished. And then he never stopped. What kept him going wasn't just the exercise. It was the mental side: doing hard things on purpose, showing up for training when life gives you every reason not to, chasing a goal that demands real consistency to reach. Finding a community to do it with. And yes, having great gear while you do it.

Co-founder Jake brings a different kind of athlete's perspective. An ex-NFL player who now surfs and cycles, Jake is the kind of person who simply doesn't stop moving. Post-football life didn't slow him down. It redirected him. Different sports, same intensity.

We both live very active lifestyles. San Diego makes that easy. This city has one of the strongest fitness cultures in the country, and the running scene here is particularly serious. Runners are everywhere: on the coast in Carlsbad, along the Embarcadero, on trails across the county. Running in San Diego isn't niche. It's a way of life. Launching a run collection from here felt less like a stretch and more like something that was always going to happen.

The SoCal Triple Crown: The Community Came First

Before Unmapped existed as a product, it existed as a community.

In October of 2025, a Huega House team signed up for the SoCal Triple Crown: three races across Southern California, including the Carlsbad Marathon, the GOVX Half Marathon, and the AFC Half Marathon. The challenge isn't just the mileage. It's the time commitment. Training for a Triple Crown means months of consistent work stretched across a long stretch of real life, and real life doesn't stop for training.

People got injured. Schedules filled up. The training period alone is enough to knock out those who underestimate what they signed up for. But on August 16, 2026, when the final race crossed its finish line, more than 50 Huega House runners completed the full challenge.

Fifty-plus people who trained through busy seasons, pushed through setbacks, managed injuries, and showed up when it mattered. That's the community Unmapped was built for. And if we're being honest, that community helped shape what this collection became.

What Unmapped Is Built On

The design philosophy behind Unmapped is simple: lightweight, breathable, moves with you, and built to the highest quality with the most minimal design possible. No unnecessary bulk. No loud branding. Just gear that performs and gets out of the way, so you can focus on the miles instead of what you're wearing.

Every piece was designed the way we'd want our own running kit to look and feel. Because that's exactly what it is.

The Microgrid Run Tank

The centerpiece of the Unmapped collection. The Microgrid Run Tank is built for high-output movement: 68% Nylon, 32% Spandex, with perforated microgrid fabric that dramatically increases airflow without adding weight. Four-way stretch construction keeps the tank moving with every stride. Reflective logo details add visibility for early morning and after-dark runs.

Available in White, Black, Taupe, and Navy. Currently available for preorder.

The 5" Run Shorts

The most technically packed piece in the lineup. The 5" Run Shorts pair a lightweight performance shell (95% Polyester, 5% Spandex) with a built-in technical liner (75% Recycled Nylon, 25% Spandex) that stays in place without riding up, no matter the distance.

The storage is where the real thought went: dual liner phone pockets, small side pockets for gels, keys, or AirPods, and a rear loop to secure your shirt or towel. Everything you need on a run, organized and accessible without adding bulk. Reflective logo details for low-light visibility. 5" inseam.

Available in Black, Navy, Taupe, and Olive. Currently available for preorder.

The Run Hats

Stride Nylon Hat | Taupe -Nylon Hat

Huega House started as a hat brand. Designing run-specific headwear for this collection felt like the right convergence of both worlds, and the result is four purpose-built run hats, each solving the same problem differently.

The Athletics Stride Nylon Hat is the most ventilated of the group. Mesh side paneling and perforated top panels work together to maximize airflow throughout your run. Available in Black, White, and Navy.

The Stride Nylon Hat is a slightly cleaner option: perforated side panels, moisture-wicking 100% polyester construction, adjustable elastic back strap for a secure fit. Available in Black, White, and Taupe.

The Stratos Nylon Hat is the most minimal of the three. Lightweight, barely-there feel, with a tuck-away adjustable strap. The hat you forget you're wearing. Available in Black and White.

For those who want a more structured silhouette, the Icon Form Performance Hat rounds out the hat lineup. Available in Black, White, and Graphite.

The Accessories

Expandable Belt Pack | Black -Belt

A complete run kit goes beyond the apparel. The Unmapped Collection includes the accessories that fill in the gaps.

The Expandable Belt Pack ($35) is low-profile and stretch-constructed (88% Polyester, 12% Spandex). It sits close to the body, adjusts for a secure fit, and carries your phone, keys, and small essentials without shifting during a run. Available for preorder.

The Performance Crew Sock ($15) is lightweight and performance-focused, built for training and runs from the ground up. 72% Polyester, 25% Nylon, 3% Spandex.

The Huega Squeeze Water Bottle ($15) keeps hydration simple: 550mL, BPA-free, food-grade flexible body with an easy-flow spout. Available in White and Black.

What's Next

This isn't a one-time release. Running is a real part of how we live, how we train, and how we think about building this brand. Unmapped is the first step in developing the running side of Huega House with the same seriousness we've brought to everything else.

The SoCal Triple Crown team didn't just inspire the timing of this launch. They proved what a committed running community looks like when it shows up. More than 50 people crossing a finish line after 10 months of training doesn't happen without real dedication. We're proud to have been part of it, and we're building toward more.

If you run, Unmapped was built for you. If you're just getting into it, welcome. The routes are already out there. You just have to show up.
